Hybrid Project
Nickelsdorf

Evergy provided technical consulting and engineering support for the hybridization of an existing wind farm through the integration of 43 MWp of PV capacity at the same grid connection point.

The Nickelsdorf PV plant is located southwest of Vienna and, at the time of development, ranked among the largest photovoltaic installations in Austria. The grid connection capacity was not expanded to accommodate the PV plant, resulting in shared usage of the existing capacity between the wind and solar components. Evergy supported the project from early development through to commissioning, ensuring seamless integration and optimized design.

The services of Evergy comprised in particular:

  • Feasibility study of the PV plant
  • Optimization and capacity sizing of the PV Plant
  • Engineering support for grid integration with the existing wind infrastructure
  • Energy yield assessment accounting for grid limitations and operational conditions
  • Management of EPC tendering process and bidder selection
  • Assistance in preparation of contract documentation

Evergy stands for diverse, challenging projects with rapidly evolving technologies. One of my favourite projects is currently in Bangladesh. In cooperation with our partner company, we are advising a state financial institution that provides loans to companies, investors and NGOs for financing renewable energies.
