Serene Portfolio

Evergy was engaged by the investor to conduct a Technical Due Diligence of the Serene PV portfolio as part of the acquisition process. Beyond the acquisition phase, Evergy provided extended technical consultancy services throughout the procurement and construction stages.

The Serene portfolio comprises five utility-scale solar PV projects located between Gothenburg and Stockholm. At the time of acquisition, all plants were under development. Two projects achieved Ready-to-Build (RTB) status in 2024, with EPC contracts finalized in early 2025. Construction for these RTB projects was scheduled to commence in summer 2025.

The services of Evergy comprised in particular:

  • Preparation and management of the EPC tendering process
  • Evaluation of EPC contractor bids
  • Technical advisory support for EPC and O&M contract negotiations
  • Review and validation of technical design and execution planning
  • Construction monitoring, including periodic site visits and milestone-based progress verification

I joined Evergy straight after my studies. I received very good support and encouragement. I have the feeling that I am doing something meaningful here. I still remember an inspection trip to Portugal: in the middle of the project area was a creek that we could only cross by off-road vehicle and a small, deserted village which was preserved. That was quite unusual.
