Derrydarroch and Upper Falloch

Evergy was appointed to carry out Technical Due Diligence in support of the acquisition process of two operational hydroelectric power plants in Scotland. Both plants have been in operation since 2015.

The Derrydarroch and Upper Falloch facilities are run-of-river systems located within the same hydrological catchment area, with gross heads ranging from 120 m to 213 m. The installed capacities are 0.9 MW and 2.0 MW respectively. Both plants are connected to the local medium-voltage distribution grid.

  • Verification of the specific catchment area and flow rate assessment
  • Energy yield assessment using operational data
  • Technical design review
  • Site inspection and assessment of the current technical condition
  • Development of a refurbishment strategy with associated cost estimation
  • Review of existing Operation & Maintenance (O&M) contracts

Für mich fühlt sich Evergy an wie ein Zuhause. Hier bin ich ein „aktiver Teil“ und das macht mich glücklich. Beim Projekt "Allt Fionn" waren die Vor-Ort-Inspektion etwas ganz Besonderes: Wir besuchten einen abgelegenen Teil Schottlands im Winter in einer schneebedeckten, kalten Umgebung. Hier haben wir unsere geballte Kompetenz eingesetzt und das positive Feedback des Kunden war toll.
Evergy feels like home to me. I am an “active part” here and that makes me happy. On the “Allt Fionn” project, the on-site inspections were very special: we visited a remote part of Scotland in winter in a cold, snow-covered environment. We used our combined expertise here and the positive feedback from the customer was great.
